At a glance: Different viscosities need the right tools
Many materials change their viscosity during mixing. For example, a powder-based material can achieve a thin or soft plastic consistency by adding water. The guide system on the paddle cards indicates the viscosity of the mixture so that the right paddle can be selected.
DESCRIPTION OF THE COLOR CODE SYSTEM
- ORANGE
Material: Liquid
Thin to viscous substances, e.g., paints, liquid plastic, epoxy-coatings or primers; often mineral or resin-based. Ideally mixed with paddles that create a mixing effect from top to bottom.
- GREEN
Material: Creamy
From honey-like to curd-like textures; with cement and sand constituents, e.g., adhesives, leveling compounds, stable putties, flowing mortars ...
- MAGENTA
Material: Heavy
Heavy and/or moderately damp materials, with a high aggregate content, mineral or resin-bound; e.g., concrete, mortar, plaster ...; Paddles with a mixing action from bottom to top are used for these heavy materials. This facilitates immersion in the compact material, the stirrer literally screws itself into the material.
